I have been playing Taiko since
1999. My first Taiko experience was
at Lakeshore Park in Oakland. While
observing a performance there, I
decided that this looked like a “fun
thing to do”.
I am a teacher and BTSA Site
Coordinator and I have several goals
for my continuing Taiko career. I want
to become more proficient in playing
and developing my skills on the
Shime, the Odaiko and the Cannon.
I also want to expand my knowledge
of Taiko history, philosophy and
music composition so I may share
these with my
students.
