I have been playing Taiko since 1998. I
had seen Taiko a while before, but
then when my cousin invited me to a
performance at Lake Merritt in
Oakland, I soon started looking for a
group close to home.
I love music, especially percussion. I
feel it is an extension of myself. I love
the exhilaration of being able to
express myself through my music.
Taiko allows me to be creative through
writing music and through movement.
My long term goals are to learn
different Taiko playing styles, to return
to Japan to study with more Taiko
groups and to "Play Taiko until I drop!"

I am a systems analyst and work for
the State of California.
